I introduced live blogs to Crikey, writing them on breaking news events from natural disasters to elections and leadership spills.

The process included trawling social media, screening television, receiving emails from readers and Crikey journalists, and constantly aggregating content from a wide variety of mainstream news sites and lesser known blogs to provide our readers with the most up-to- date and interesting rolling coverage. * ‘Situation continues to deteriorate’: QLD floods live blog — When flash floods hit Queensland in January, 2011, it was one of Australia’s worst natural disasters of the last decade and the first time Crikey had ever used live blogging.
